What do I know first?
You must sign into the Google account that you used to register with. Once you log in, you should be redirected to the Player Progress Card report.
What do I do once I'm logged into my Gmail account? Hint: This is the Gmail account that you registered your player progress card with back on this form: https://www.familydreamcenter.com/player-progress-card
If you only have one player connected to your Gmail account, you should see the Report showing their Player Progress Card and then on the left there are navigation tabs to show the Batting Stats, Hit Grader, Pitching Stats, and Help Page.
How does the Hit Grader and Pitch Grader Player Leaderboard Rankings work?
Our player leaderboard is designed to provide a clear and fair assessment of each athlete’s performance using measurable data. The leaderboard displays each player’s total score and letter grade based on their hitting and pitching performance.
How Scores Are Calculated
Hit Grader (Total Score: 1-80)
Each hit is analyzed based on four key metrics, and each metric is given a score from 1 to 20:
- Exit Velocity – How fast the ball leaves the bat after contact. Higher exit velocity = more power.
- Distance – How far the ball travels in the air. Important for power hitting.
- Launch Angle – The angle at which the ball leaves the bat. Ideal range for line drives and home runs.
- Spin – The amount of spin on the ball, affecting flight path and carry.
A player’s total hit score is the sum of all four metric scores, ranging from 1 to 80.
Pitch Grader (Total Score: 1-60)
Each pitch is graded based on three key metrics, with each given a score from 1 to 20:
- Velocity – The speed of the pitch. Faster pitches are harder to hit.
- Total Spin – The overall spin on the ball, affecting movement and deception.
- Spin Efficiency (Release) – How well the spin contributes to movement rather than wasted motion. Higher efficiency = sharper movement.
The combined score for pitching ranges from 1 to 60.
Leaderboard & Letter Grades
- The total score (hitting and/or pitching) determines the letter grade.
- Higher scores indicate stronger performance in key metrics.
This system ensures a fair, data-driven evaluation of each player’s strengths while highlighting areas for improvement. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
How does the Pitch Grader work?
The Pitch Grader is a calculation model that takes the core metrics outlined in this presentation and then outputs a Grade on each pitch and the pitching session.
