What's New for DREAM Team Baseball in Fall 2023?
1) DREAM Team provides Teams and Training! Both our Teams and our Training initiatives will be expanded in the Fall of 2023. "There's no TEAM without TRAINING" and in the Spring we added Training Track as a complimentary option for each DREAM Team player. This Fall, we will have an exclusive Training App Membership for our baseball players to take their game & training to another level!
The Training App will open new doors for each player to take their overall fitness & athleticism to another level! Whether they're 7U or 14U, there will be exercises loaded into the app for them to do at home & help them watch videos at home to help them train not only their baseball muscles but also their mental muscle/IQ.
We will have Player Goals, a Player Leaderboard, a Player Journal, and we'll incorporate Player Rewards that they can unlock 🔓 in their Training Journey! This will show results for the players that put the time into the program, they will compete against their peers and teammates which will motivate them. For our younger ages, players will need parental permission and supervision. If the player has a wearable watch or device that has the Health app, it does integrate with our app platform to help keep them motivated in their progress! There will be a mixture of baseball exercises and fitness exercises that will challenge them while keeping it fun for them to master so they can get their name on the leaderboard! Below are just a few screen shots of this exciting program!

2) DREAM Team believes in practice to improve player skills! Expect more field practices this Fall season! But also, we are adding a FungoMan to our Field practices:
One thing about DREAM Team cannot be denied, our players work and train hard because we believe that practice is where development happens.
In Spring 2023, DREAM Team practiced at least 2-3 times per week as a team plus our dedicated staff of coaches held:
- 2 Baseball Skills Combines
- 4 Baseball Instructional Workshops
- 4 Baseball Camps
- 12 Training Track Workshops
- A total of up to 75 dedicated, pre-planned practices over the course of 4 months that included many Rapsodo sessions.
After seeing how this training (even going beyond team practices) has accelerated the development of our players, DREAM Team is going ALL IN on player development even more this Fall!
This helps our players focus more on their own player development goals and not just on team accomplishments because ultimately the most important aspect of DREAM Team is Player Development. We have firmly stayed true to our DREAM Team Motto: "DREAM Big. Work Hard. Team First."
This Fall, DREAM Team will hold more field practices than even what was planned in the Spring season to help players improve their fielding skills, fielding communication & defensive responsibilities, and also for them to increase their situational defense awareness.
This does mean that the monthly fee will increase (since Training Track is now built in and not an option) this season for some of our members coming out of Spring, but there is a greater value (value shown below in the graphic) built into these training sessions and things that other organizations would charge as extra fees that is well worth the investment. This season is a great testament to that as our Postseason Survey results show that the overwhelming majority of parents love seeing the accelerated development of their player; this is why DREAM Team has a stellar client retention rate when compared to other baseball organizations in the area. Our focus is in the right place: developing players!

3) Each team will have team (head coach led) practices as well as staff led practices. Plus, we have added Caleb Elrod to our leadership to be our Team Culture Coach (focused on parents & players building healthy habits on and off the field & ensuring that Team and Organizational Culture are focused on positive growth across the board)!
In the Spring, we had great staff coach collaboration and we want to emphasize this even more this Fall. One great aspect of DREAM Team sending parent surveys out is we received some great parent feedback that players enjoyed working with the stable of staff coaches as well as our great head coaches.
These Staff Led Practices will feature:
- 3-4 Staff Coaches (keeping a dynamic, fast-paced practice where the players gain a lot of instructional insight)
- Specialized, Small Group Instruction
- Position Specific Training (ie, Middle Infielders, Corner Infielders, PFP for Pitchers, Catcher Throw Downs, Outfielder Fungo, etc.)
- Field practices will highlight getting each player fielding reps, baserunning reps, and situational reps. Facility practices will highlight getting each player a certain number of full intent swings off of the tee, soft toss, and live cuts as well as include an element of Sports Performance and Baseball IQ.

4) DREAM Team Sports Center is going to have some new Player Development stations.
We now have a Baseball Mental Muscle room that can be used for players watching film and learning & this Fall more than ever our staff is going to optimize the facility so that players can come in and learn from instructor led film study, focus on pre-practice warmup routines, test their Baseball IQ, chart their Sports Performance progress, check out the Big Board for this week's Challenge, check out videos in the Mental Muscle Room, & more! We'll also be utilizing Rapsodo, Pocket Radar, Driveline and other best in class tech to help us drive innovative instruction & learning!
We want our players to want to come to the facility & be excited about their own development; the best motivator to a young player is when they prove "they can do it" to themselves.

5) Charted Pitcher/Catcher Bullpens for Kid Pitch teams.
In the Spring, our DREAM Team pitchers and catchers have had individualized work built into their Team Practice, but we want to build in more time for specialized bullpen work so that pitchers and catchers can work together more in practice PRIOR to when they're in the game. Catchers can work on their technique and pre-pitch signs just like Pitchers who will work on their bullpen progressions so they can feel confident going into their next game or tournament.

6) A more scripted practice focus on defensive communication & more repetition.
Defensive strategy is the name of the game this Fall, we'll have each team on the field for more reps and how to communicate in their assignments in the field. This is especially important for our young Kid Pitch teams where they are learning that the ball is live and everyone has to be moving when the ball is in play or even when the ball is simply thrown back to the pitcher. Bad habits will be weeded out, every fielder must increase awareness and communication will be built into field practices so that when situations arise (ie, a pop fly in between 3 fielders where a fielder must take charge and call off the other fielders) in the game we're ready and understand the chain of command on defensive assignments.

7) Drills that incorporate competition at positions within practice, players will learn how to compete & drop "dead" plays on the field or dugout!
"Dead" plays on defense are plays in the field that are over, you cannot reverse time and redo a fielding error or mistake. Dead plays will be covered postgame by the coach and then they are in the past; like a shooter in basketball, our players must learn to drop dead plays and move to the next play. Learning can happen postgame with the coach, but dead plays should never be dwelled upon in the game as it's can kill the competitive edge of the player. Just say "NO" to Dead Plays & Move On, it's part of the game of baseball.

8) Rapsodo Evaluations will be offered to each player 1x Month within season (starting in September).
Rapsodo is the industry leader in ball tracking as it relates to hitting the ball harder or pitching with more movement/velo and we want parents to be "in the know" about Rapsodo and how to access their player's video sessions and statistics. DREAM Team offers Rapsodo Training for Pitchers and Hitters.

9) Player development through new opportunities will be an emphasis within the program.
Players will get opportunities to grow and develop and even though each player will have a base team that they play on, they may be invited to join a tournament team one weekend to play (or more) or have other opportunities of growth. DREAM Team really is different than most organizations in this regard as most organizations will try out players for 1 hour preseason, put them on a team all season, and never seek out opportunities for the player to grow. Player development is not static, it's a dynamic process that happens over time so DREAM Team will continue to look out for each player to help them continue to grow in the game and partner with parents on a game plan to do so.

10) Player development through a saved Player Profile system will be an emphasis within the program.
As mentioned in our Postseason Player Evaluations, we are "keeping a book" on the development side of things for each player that is saved in Google Drive. We will be sharing the player file updates regularly through the season and really do our best to communicate evaluations to parents so that parents will know areas of growth and areas where the player can improve their skills in the game.

What is DREAM Team Baseball?
DREAM Team Baseball is about one thing, kids dreaming big! Kids watch & play the game of baseball & many dream of pitching a shut out, hitting a homer, or scoring the winning run...but there's something more to baseball in that it teaches kids incredible life lessons. Dreams can & do come true, BUT baseball teaches life lessons such as discipline, focus and teamwork. At DREAM Team Baseball, our goal is help provide quality instruction, constructive coaching, and outstanding practice facilities & fields to help kids achieve their dreams of growing in the game of baseball.
DREAM Team Fundamentals

Measured Hitting Instruction
At DREAM Team, we use "old school" hitting fundamental techniques and combine them with "new school" optical technology including measuring exit speed, total spin, spin access, launch angle, and exit direction. This will show what happens when a player makes contact with the ball which allows our coaches to pinpoint simple adjustments that can be made to see greater results.

Baserunning & Sliding Instruction
At DREAM Team Baseball, there will be practices specifically designed to work on base running & sliding technique, conditioning, and situational base running.
At our Field of Dreams, we'll have bases set up for base running stations to work on reading pick offs, proper takeoff technique, and sliding fundamentals.

Pitching & Coaching Instruction
Both the pitcher and catcher in the game of baseball are crucial positions They require specialized instruction. There is an incredible learning curve for young players to go from coach pitch and then into kid pitch all while mastering these crucial positions. It takes intentional instruction and a focus on good technique (along with reps) to get players more competent in learning these positions.

Fielding & Catching Instruction
With DREAM Team, we focus on the six "F's" of fielding (feet, field, funnel, fire, & follow. These set the baseline of what good fielding instruction should be.
Not only does DREAM Team focus on the six F's, but we focus on the three B's of fielding. A player must be able to play the baseball hit to them, cover a base or backup another field.
